Our client, a manufacturing company positioned as a global leader in the production of technological materials and specialty chemicals, is currently seeking an HR Advisor for its plant located in the Montreal region.
Nature of position
Reporting to the Director of Montreal plant, you will hold the position of Human Resources Advisor, a generalist role in which you will support the plant in various HR areas, such as management team support, staffing, labor relations, performance management, training, HR performance indicators, as well as other activities and projects. You will also collaborate with Corporate Human Resources on various files. Your responsibilities will include, among others :
- Providing advisory support in staffing matters and assisting managers in their recruitment processes ;
- Supporting and advising managers and employees in developing competency and career development plans to enhance organizational performance ;
- Participating in workforce planning and succession planning processes ;
- Identifying and recommending training courses tailored to employees’ specific needs ;
- Offering coaching and guidance to managers regarding the annual performance management process ;
- Networking with various organizations for recruitment purposes, such as educational institutions, placement agencies, immigrant support organizations, and employment assistance services ;
- Working closely with Corporate Human Resources to develop strategies for talent acquisition and employer branding ;
- Participating in the job evaluation committee ;
- Supporting managers on labor relations matters ;
- Ensuring adherence to policies and programs, and responding to employee inquiries related to the application of rules, policies, and programs ;
- Identifying and proposing improvements to HR policies and processes, and managing the deployment of specific HR projects initiated by Corporate Human Resources ;
- Performing all other duties compatible with your role.
Required qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, or any other related field ;
- 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment ;
- Good knowledge of laws and regulations governing Human Resources management (Labour Standards Act, CNESST Act, Law 90, Pay Equity, etc.) ;
- Membership in the CRHA professional association (an asset) ;
- Demonstrated leadership and high degree of autonomy ;
- Excellent proficiency in spoken and written French ;
- Proficiency in spoken and written English (an asset) ;
- Excellent influencing skills ;
- Demonstrated integrity ;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
