Asset Management Advisor, Municipal Infrastructure

Our client, an organization representing municipalities of all sizes and regions across Québec, works daily to advocate for its members' interests with governments while offering an expanding range of services and commercial benefits. It also ensures that its members stay well-informed about the municipal sector through its publications, events, and training programs. The organization is currently seeking an Asset Management Advisor.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the Manager of Climate Change and Infrastructure, you will contribute to the development of support workshops aimed at guiding members in implementing integrated municipal asset management strategies. Additionally, you will monitor available grant programs, new developments in asset management, and issues related to municipal infrastructure. Finally, you will organize and co-host discussion forums between municipalities and may be called upon to sit on various working committees related to urban infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Raise awareness and support municipalities through the various steps and available tools for developing an asset management plan;
  • Identify challenges municipalities face in creating asset management plans and propose targeted training to assist them;
  • Provide strategic guidance for the implementation of asset management plans in collaboration with partners;
  • Assess the needs of general management in terms of technical support;
  • Organize training and information sessions with experts;
  • Encourage participation and engage members in discussion tables and inter-municipal committees;
  • Propose, monitor, and share performance indicators through dashboards intended for members, partners, and government authorities;
  • Contribute to the development of budget forecasts for the program;
  • Develop and strengthen the partner network;
  • Perform any other tasks relevant to your role.

Required qualification

  • University degree in engineering or any other relevant field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Knowledge of asset management plan development and project management;
  • Strong interest in the municipal, public, and parapublic sectors;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite;
  • Comfortable with BI tools and other emerging technological trends related to infrastructure;
  • Asset management certification is considered an asset;
  • Proficiency of spoken and written French;
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with municipal officials (both elected representatives and management), government bodies, and external partners;
  • Team-oriented mindset and a collaborative approach.
