Our client, an international web marketing agency specializing in internet traffic monetization and operating an advertising network that generates daily sales in over 200 countries, positioning itself as a leader in its field, is currently seeking a Director of Data Science.
Nature of position
Reporting to the Vice President of Data and Analytics, your primary mandate will be to lead the data science team and maximize the impact of advanced analytics within the company. You will play a key role in defining strategic directions, developing machine learning and reinforcement learning models, and managing data-related projects. Your expertise will directly contribute to transforming data into concrete actions, thereby driving innovation and informed decision-making. In this capacity, you will be responsible for:
- Manage a team responsible for the development and deployment of reinforcement learning models ;
- Utilize other advanced analytical methods to solve business problems ;
- Participate in the development and execution of a data science strategy ;
- Contribute to the evolution of practices and automate certain tasks ;
- Collaborate with teams to promote the integration of data science and solutions into existing systems and environments ;
- Act as a mentor for the team’s Data Scientists ;
- Influence internal strategies by identifying the right opportunities ;
- Generate innovative ideas, implement them, and present them to various stakeholders ;
- Perform any other tasks or responsibilities related to this position.
Required qualification
- Master's degree in Business Intelligence, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field ;
- Strong knowledge of advanced analytical methods and data architecture ;
- Proven relevant experience in data science, with at least 5 years in the field ;
- Comfortable working in a cloud environment, such as Snowflake on AWS ;
- Proficient in programming languages (Python, SQL, R, etc.) ;
- Bilingual, as the immediate team includes both English and French speakers.
