Plant Manager

Our client, a well-established industrial company in the Québec region, renowned for its innovative solutions and continuous growth, is currently seeking a Plant Manager.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of senior management, you will be responsible for setting the company's performance standards and implementing strategic action plans to achieve organizational goals. You will play a key role in promoting safe practices, optimizing operating costs, improving performance, and maintaining production capacity and quality. In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Supervise and support production, maintenance, engineering, occupational health and safety (OHS), and supply chain teams, ensuring rigorous follow-up on objectives.
  • Ensure compliance of installations and operations with federal, provincial, and municipal regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and monitor occupational health and safety priorities, creating a healthy and safe environment for all employees.
  • Contribute to team development by tracking individual and collective performance.
  • Collaborate on the implementation of optimization and investment projects aimed at improving operational efficiency.
  • Establish performance standards aligned with strategic objectives, business plans, and allocated budgets.
  • Promote the adoption of best practices and standardized processes across all plant activities.
  • Manage and approve expenditures and financial controls, ensuring the efficient use of resources.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by guaranteeing timely delivery of products that meet quality standards.
  • Mobilize, motivate, and guide teams to achieve the plant’s objectives and foster a positive work environment.
  • Build and maintain a competent, engaged team, encouraging collaboration and complementarity of skills.
  • Support human resources management by upholding the company's values and ensuring alignment with the business strategy.
  • Perform any other duties related to the responsibilities of the position.

Required qualification

  • University degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing sector.
  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal partners.
  • Project management skills with the ability to lead process optimization initiatives.
  • Ability to manage priorities and adapt to a constantly evolving environment.
  • Analytical skills to interpret key performance indicators (KPIs) and make strategic decisions based on results.
  • Team management experience or strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Proficiency in French and English, both oral and written (English is required to collaborate with international clients and suppliers).
