Our client is a company offering manufacturing services for complex electronic hardware. Specializing in the assembly of electronic circuits, cables, and harnesses, as well as electronic integration, testing, and verification, the company is recognized for its expertise and innovative solutions. Currently, our client is seeking a Test Specialist to join their team.
Nature of position
Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for defining, designing, and implementing various test benches and/or testing strategies, ensuring compliance with client specifications and applicable standards through meticulous methodology control. In this role, you will:
- Understand and validate the completeness of technical documentation provided by clients to ensure a solid foundation for testing.
- Analyze documentation from a testing perspective to identify potential technical obstacles related to manufacturing.
- Provide guidance and technical orientation during the launch of production projects.
- Support ICT (Agilent) and Flying Probe (SPEA) test equipment, including program transfer and debugging.
- Work directly with clients to address technical challenges, propose tailored testing methodologies, and secure their approval.
- Conduct DFT (Design for Test) analyses to optimize product testability.
- Perform test tooling analysis, place orders, and track project progress.
- Conduct root cause analyses to synthesize issues such as those related to manufacturing, component quality, or suppliers.
- Define benchmarks for industry standards and specifications while recommending improvements to optimize internal procedures and instructions.
- Provide proactive technical support to the production department to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Perform any other related tasks associated with your responsibilities.
Required qualification
- College or university education in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a testing role within the electronics industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French, with strong proficiency in spoken and written English (functional English proficiency facilitates communication with diverse stakeholders).
- Strong ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Experience with ICT (Agilent) and Flying Probe (SPEA) testing equipment is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel), CAD files, and Gerber files.
- Solid understanding of electronic components.
- Expertise in ISO and IPC standards.
- Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while effectively addressing immediate production needs.
