Electromechanic

Our client, a manufacturing company recognized as a global leader in the production of technological materials and specialty chemicals, is currently seeking an Electromechanic for their plant in the Montreal area.

Nature of position

As an Industrial Electromechanic, you will play a key role in providing technical support to production. You will be responsible for repairing, installing, inspecting, maintaining, and adjusting a variety of equipment, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and control systems. Your expertise will help maintain required production levels while ensuring the quality of finished products. In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment quickly to minimize production downtime.
  • Ensure production equipment is fully operational, enabling the production team to maintain production levels and product quality.
  • Implement improvements to existing equipment based on operational needs.
  • Collaborate with the shift supervisor to resolve technical issues related to production and building equipment.
  • Analyze the root causes of failures and propose sustainable solutions to improve equipment reliability.
  • Document maintenance and repair activities in compliance with company requirements.
  • Follow and promote safety guidelines while helping to identify and report potential hazards.
  • Maintain the workplace and production equipment in a condition that aligns with the plant's purpose.
  • Perform any other duties relevant to your position.

Required qualification

  • College diploma (DEC) in Industrial Maintenance or vocational diploma (DEP) in Electromechanics or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams.
  • Experience with pumps, vacuum systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), operator interfaces, starters, and instruments.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety (OHS) principles and techniques.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Leadership and team spirit.
  • Agile and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Skills in MIG/MAG welding, arc welding, TIG welding, and possession of a C license will be considered assets.
