Project Manager, Railway Sector

Our client, a multinational multidisciplinary professional services firm operating in 35 countries, provides design, planning, and project management services to a diverse clientele. As an organization dedicated to sustainable development, they bring together a collective of designers, consultants, and experts working globally. Currently, our client is seeking a Project Manager for the railway sector.

Nature of position

As a Project Manager, you will play a key role in managing and delivering large-scale projects for major clients in the public transit and railway sectors. Your responsibilities will include coordinating the planning and execution phases of projects, managing budgets and timelines, as well as optimizing work processes. You will also be responsible for the installation of railway systems and infrastructure, while ensuring client satisfaction and the overall success of the projects. In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage all aspects related to project delivery;
  • Act as the project manager for various mandates, including Design-Build projects, feasibility studies, and technical assignments for light rail, commuter, or freight train projects;
  • Support business development by establishing relationships with clients and preparing service proposals;
  • Collaborate effectively with teams to ensure efficient project delivery according to management system requirements;
  • Ensure the integration and management of multidisciplinary teams with the goal of delivering high-quality results;
  • Continuously improve your skills to offer flexibility and added value to clients;
  • Contribute to the expansion of services and market share in the railway sector;
  • Perform any other related tasks in line with your responsibilities.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or project management;
  • At least ten (10) years of project management experience in the railway engineering sector;
  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset;
  • Knowledge of different project delivery models (Design-Build, PPP, etc.);
  • Proficiency with the following tools: Teams, SharePoint, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Primavera P6; knowledge of Tilos software is a plus;
  • Proficiency in French, both spoken and written, and fluency in English is a significant asset;
  • Ability to work in a complex environment;
  • Experience in procurement for design and construction contracts on behalf of external clients;
  • Experience within co-located teams working for external clients is an asset.
