Robotics Specialist

Our client, a leader in its industry, specializing in the design, manufacturing, and installation of automated equipment for the manufacturing sector, is currently seeking a Robotics Specialist.

Nature of position

As a Robotics Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, installing, and maintaining the company's robotic solutions. You will play a key role in optimizing the mold management systems. Your responsibilities will include offline robot programming, 3D simulation, as well as the hardware and software installation of robotic systems, while ensuring customer satisfaction and project success. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, implement, and test robotic solutions for mold management systems;
  • Perform offline robot programming and conduct 3D simulations;
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, making sure project deliverables meet or exceed client requirements and that the profitability of assigned mandates is as expected;
  • Perform hardware and software installation, as well as preparation of robotic systems;
  • Conduct initial power-on inspections, factory acceptance tests (FAT), commissioning (SAT), and provide startup support;
  • Review the necessary plans/documents for the projects (system architecture plans, etc.);
  • Compile, organize, and share with the project manager the support documentation obtained from OEM suppliers. Confirm that all documentation is complete and saved on the server (post FAT, SAT documentation, panel documentation, etc.);
  • Perform any other related tasks in line with your responsibilities.

Required qualification

  • Degree in engineering in automation, robotics, computer science, or equivalent;
  • Knowledge of ABB and Robot Studio, a major asset;
  • Knowledge of Kuka and Fanuc robots, an asset;
  • Knowledge of process control concepts, instrumentation, and electricity;
  • Experience in programming with any modern object-oriented language.
