Electrical Project Engineer (Power Generation Equipment)

Our client, a company specializing in the design, manufacturing, and integration of a wide range of electrical and automation systems primarily for the power generation sector, is currently seeking an Electrical Project Engineer.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the company management, your main responsibility will be to manage various projects related to the solutions and equipment offered by the company. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead electrical engineering work and prepare plans and specifications for the supply, installation, and commissioning of equipment;
  • Perform detailed electrical design of the equipment;
  • Conduct setting studies and configure or program protection relays from manufacturers such as Schweitzer Engineering, GE, Beckwith, or others;
  • Participate in the supervision, testing, and commissioning of equipment when required;
  • Analyze and resolve various issues encountered;
  • Keep technical documents up to date regarding the work performed;
  • Perform any other tasks compatible with your role.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering;
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec or in the process of becoming one (Engineer in Training);
  • Minimum of one year of experience;
  • Proficiency in spoken and written French and English (the candidate will need to collaborate with English-speaking clients);
  • Good knowledge of digital systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS);
  • Experience or strong interest in power electricity and equipment such as rotating machines, auxiliary equipment (excitation systems and speed regulators), as well as high voltage equipment.
