Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is currently seeking a Production Supervisor.
Nature of position
Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, your main mandate will be to oversee production activities to achieve the general operational objectives of the plant. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and always setting an example to foster communication with employees. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Manage production operations to ensure optimal use of equipment, human resources, and raw materials;
- Involve supervisors, team leaders, and production employees in achieving company objectives while fostering team cohesion;
- Participate in the hiring process of production employees;
- Supervise the work of employees;
- Conduct annual evaluations of production employees (with the Operations Manager);
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and actively participate in their implementation;
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment and enforce the company's safety rules;
- Control the quality of in-process and finished products and find solutions as needed;
- Perform any other tasks compatible with your functions.
Required qualification
- College diploma (DEC), high school diploma (DES), or other relevant training;
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in employee management;
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations;
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (an asset);
- Familiarity with a manufacturing system (ERP);
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;
- Sense of responsibility and strong communication skills;
- Autonomy, initiative, and leadership abilities.
