Our client, a multinational professional services company operating in 35 countries, provides design, planning, and project management services to a diverse clientele. As an organization dedicated to sustainable development, it brings together a collective of designers, consultants, and experts working on a global scale. Currently, our client is seeking an Urban Infrastructure Engineer.
Nature of position
In collaboration with the Montreal team, you will be responsible for leading the design of infrastructure projects and supervising junior staff and interns. You will also need to ensure the multidisciplinary coordination of projects, manage and deliver deliverables to clients, and collaborate with various stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and ensure the success of the projects. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Lead the design of key aspects of large infrastructure projects, including utilities, main pipelines, and drainage;
- Manage smaller-scale projects, such as civil engineering design for parks or site development;
- Supervise junior staff and interns, foster their professional development, guide and oversee their technical work;
- Coordinate with other disciplines to integrate a multidisciplinary and holistic approach to project design;
- Manage and deliver project deliverables to clients;
- Lead project meetings (both internal and external) and actively participate in them;
- Collaborate with clients, municipal authorities, and utility companies to obtain relevant approvals for design work;
- Write reports for internal and external purposes based on conclusions drawn;
- Understand best practices and trends in the civil engineering and infrastructure markets;
- Support project managers in their daily management of assignments related to SLR, metro stations, transportation, and water management across Canada;
- Present technical material/content to specialized and non-specialized audiences in both conventional and innovative ways;
- Participate in activities and events of local professional associations;
- Perform any other duties consistent with your role.
Required qualification
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent;
- At least seven (7) years of relevant experience in civil engineering;
- Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
- Work experience with the City of Montreal and other municipal authorities in the Montreal area, including experience obtaining approvals from these authorities;
- Experience in 3D modeling using Autodesk, Bentley, InfoWorks, and hydraulic modeling tools;
- Proficiency in delivering presentations to colleagues and clients at all levels;
- Experience in Design-Build/PPP projects is a significant asset;
- Ability to work under pressure, establish and manage priorities, meet deadlines; strong organizational skills required for our fast-paced and constantly evolving environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication abilities, essential for teamwork.
