Automation Technician

Our client, a company specializing in the design and manufacturing of modular units and automation tools for process optimization and industrial control, offering turnkey solutions to manufacturing companies serving the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and food markets, is currently seeking an Automation Technician.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the company's management, your main responsibility will be to program PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) as well as participate in workshop assembly activities, installation, and commissioning of equipment at client sites. Specifically, you will:

  • Design and program automated systems (simple or complex) on various types of PLCs and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
  • Install and troubleshoot automated systems.
  • Participate in the commissioning of systems at client sites.
  • Create technical documents related to the maintenance of automated systems.
  • Ensure that sold systems are functional in a production context and meet customer expectations.
  • Configure variable speed drives.
  • Configure instrumentation and put it into operation.
  • Provide occasional emergency services.
  • Perform any other tasks compatible with your functions.

Required qualification

  • DEC in Industrial Electronics, Automation, or Electrotechnics. Any other combinations of relevant education and experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in automation.
  • Functional bilingualism (spoken and written French and English) is required due to occasional travel within Canada and the United States.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming (Grafcet, Ladder, and Remote I/O).
  • Familiarity with Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) products, such as RS Studio 5000 and FT View SE/ME, is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Valid passport and availability for occasional travel.
