Project Engineer (Industrial Process Equipment)

Our client, a company specializing in the design and manufacturing of modular units and automation tools for the optimization of processes and industrial control, offering turnkey solutions to manufacturing companies serving the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and food markets, is currently seeking a Project Engineer.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the company management, your main mandate will be to ensure the management of workshop manufacturing, including site management, quality management, and the optimization of monitoring procedures. Additionally, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and supervision of on-site installation projects, ensuring compliance with deadlines, schedules, quality standards, and current regulations. Finally, you will collaborate with various stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and clients to ensure the success of the projects. In this role, you will:

  • Manage the manufacturing of equipment in the workshop and installation at clients' sites;
  • Control project costs and schedules;
  • Manage project performance according to established indicators and take necessary actions to reduce discrepancies;
  • Understand and master the commercial and technical requirements of contracts and project specifications;
  • Collaborate with procurement for purchases related to your projects;
  • Participate in the planning of workshop tasks related to your projects;
  • Produce dashboards to communicate project progress;
  • Develop and manage detailed installation schedules;
  • Organize and lead installation/site meetings with teams;
  • Manage and supervise on-site teams, including task distribution and performance monitoring;
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and work procedures;
  • Verify the quality of completed work and ensure it meets technical and regulatory standards;
  • Conduct regular inspections and propose corrective measures if necessary;
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation, including daily reports, purchase orders, and certificates of compliance;
  • Be responsible for the quality of assembly and functionality of equipment to be delivered;
  • Ensure smooth communication between all project stakeholders;
  • Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders;
  • Perform any other tasks compatible with your functions.

Required qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant engineering education;
  • Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Bilingual in French and English, spoken and written (English proficiency is important for this role due to close collaboration with English-speaking clients).
  • In-depth knowledge of current codes and standards.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Possess a passport and be available for occasional travel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
