Our client, an organization representing municipalities of all sizes and regions in Quebec, works daily to advocate for its members' interests with governments while offering a growing range of services, commercial privileges, and ensuring its members are well-informed about municipal affairs through its publications, activities, and training. Currently, they are seeking an Asset Management Advisor.
Nature of position
Under the supervision of the Director of Member Services, Procurement, and Insurance, you will play a key role in providing strategic support to the organization's members regarding asset management. Reporting directly to the Coordinator responsible for asset management, you will be involved in developing decision-making tools and accountability strategies for government bodies. Additionally, you will conduct technological monitoring of available subsidy programs, updates in asset management, issues related to municipal infrastructure, etc. Lastly, you will leverage your communication skills to organize and co-facilitate discussion forums among municipalities and training sessions. In this role, you will:
- Develop, implement, and disseminate methodologies, processes, and support tools for asset management plans tailored to the municipal environment.
- Raise awareness and support municipalities in the various stages and available tools for implementing asset management plans.
- Use your knowledge in the field to identify and anticipate challenges faced by municipalities in developing asset management plans and propose targeted training to support them.
- Provide strategic guidance for the implementation of asset management plans, in collaboration with partners.
- Assess the technical support needs of general directions.
- Organize training and information sessions with experts.
- Encourage participation and mobilize members around training, consultation tables, and inter-municipal committees.
- Propose, monitor, and share performance indicators through dashboards for members, partners, and government bodies.
- Contribute to the development of program budget forecasts.
- Perform any other tasks compatible with your duties.
Required qualification
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, engineering, or any other relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the municipal environment or a related field.
- Proficiency with business intelligence (BI) tools and knowledge of new technological trends related to infrastructure.
- Sharp political acumen.
- Excellent decision-making abilities.
- Impeccable written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated autonomy.
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 software suite.
