9 signs that you passed your job interview

After an interview it is difficult to know whether you got the job or not, feelings are generally split between success and failure.

Many go over the details of their interview (gestures, answers, etc.) for several hours, even days and weeks, to find out how the hiring manager perceived their application.

According to an article, written by Natalie Walters, experts say that there are several noticeable signs that can help you determine if your interview was a success or a fiasco, it is a question of paying attention.

To know if you should expect to receive an offer from the employer, pay attention to the signs mentioned below, during and in the days following the interview.

Note that if you spot these signs in an interview, there is no guarantee that you will receive the long-awaited call!

1. The interviewer seems to enjoy the conversation

When the interviewer seems interested in what you are saying and is listening to you intently, that's a good start. Signs of interest can be shown through body language: an "honest" smile, sustained eye contact, or even leaning towards you when you speak.

2. The interviewer shows you around the office before leaving

After the interview, if the manager takes the time to show you around the premises and introduce you to the company's employees, he may be considering hiring you.

3. The interviewer exceeds the allotted time for the interview

If you are being given more time than expected, it is because they are trying to find out more about you. You can conclude that you meet the initial criteria and that the employer wants to get to know you better before closing.

4. The interviewer tries to sell you the company

First and foremost, you are there to highlight your candidacy and demonstrate why you are the ideal candidate for the job. On the other hand, if the employer tries to attract you by promoting the company, they may well be impressed by your application.

5. The interviewer regularly mentions your first name during the interview

In the event that the employer uses your first name repeatedly during the conversation this could be a subtle sign that they are already imagining you as a future team member. It is well known that using first names to converse is an easy way to create immediate contact.

6. Interviewer talks about benefits, policies and salary

When the interviewer brings up the topic of benefits and compensation, there's a good chance they'll consider making you an offer. It is not profitable for both sides to bring up this subject if there is no interest.

7. Brings the topic of the rest of the hiring process

Following the interview, if the manager discusses with you the next steps to take before hiring, it is because he is considering going further with your application. If he didn't want to continue with you, he wouldn't waste his time talking about it.

8. The interviewer asks you to submit your professional references

This is a sign that does not lie. When you are asked for your professional references, it is a sign that we want to move forward with you. So you can assume that you meet the criteria and they want to make the referrals with the intention of learning more about your career path.

9. You are entitled to an endless farewell

When it comes time to leave the interview, if the manager keeps selling you the business and showing interest in you with multiple questions, you probably made a good impression.

So the next time you go for a job interview, pay attention to these signs and maybe you don't have to worry about whether you're still in the game.
