Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in Québec specializing in the development and production of products for the construction sector, is currently seeking an Industrial Engineering Supervisor.
Nature of position
Reporting to the Director of Operations Services, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving programs and strategies aimed at optimizing operational efficiency through better utilization of human resources, materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes.As such, you will be responsible for:
- Design and implement efficient manufacturing processes using industrial engineering tools, Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement tools ;
- Contribute to the design and installation of new equipment or technologies, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards ;
- Work closely with production teams to ensure smooth execution of operations, troubleshoot operational issues, and minimize downtime ;
- Participate in solving complex production-related problems by identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions ;
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure effective project coordination ;
- Document projects, generate reports, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) ;
- Train staff on new processes and monitor their implementation to ensure long-term adherence ;
- Manage and coordinate the industrial engineering team ;
- Participate in the design and implementation of new door and window models in collaboration with the R&D team and other support teams ;
- Perform any other tasks related to the position
Required qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent ;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment ;
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma principles, and continuous improvement tools ;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite ;
- Understanding of production management principles and ERP software ;
- Knowledge of automation and artificial intelligence (an asset) ;
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Solid Edge (an asset).
