Currently, our client is seeking a Maintenance and Engineering Director to join their team.
Nature of position
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for supervising and leading the maintenance and engineering department while establishing strategic objectives for these areas. You will adhere to the company’s principles by adopting a results-oriented management approach. Additionally, you will play a key role in maintaining a healthy and safe work environment within the sectors under your authority. Your responsibilities will include:
- Plan, organize, and oversee equipment maintenance activities to achieve optimal results in terms of efficiency, productivity, performance, quality, and cost.
- Identify and resolve technical issues by proposing innovative solutions and participating in corrective decision-making processes.
- Manage and motivate the maintenance team to ensure efficient execution of operations.
- Contribute to the implementation and optimization of the preventive maintenance program to maximize equipment reliability.
- Manage various projects related to production lines and manufacturing processes.
- Promote workplace health and safety by ensuring compliance with standards and machine safety regulations.
- Maintain rigorous management of the maintenance budget and CAPEX investments.
- Participate in equipment procurement and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers.
- Support the company’s growth initiatives by contributing to continuous improvement projects.
- Perform any other related tasks in line with your responsibilities.
Required qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant education.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in maintenance within the manufacturing sector.
- Experience in management will be considered a significant asset.
- Strong ability to manage stress and work under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Proficiency with software and tools such as Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and a high level of attention to detail.
- Mastery of French and English (It is preferable to have linguistic proficiency in English for this position, as it enables effective communication with suppliers and partners).
