Industrial Mechanic

Our client, a manufacturing company recognized as a global leader in the production of technological materials and specialty chemicals, is currently seeking an Industrial Mechanic for their plant in the Montreal area.

Nature of position

As an Industrial Mechanic, you will play a key role in providing technical support to production. You will be responsible for repairing, installing, inspecting, maintaining, and adjusting various types of equipment. Your expertise will help ensure required production levels are maintained while upholding the quality of finished products. In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment to ensure efficient and safe production.
  • Install, align, dismantle, or move machinery and equipment according to specifications.
  • Ensure production equipment is fully operational, allowing the production team to maintain production levels and product quality.
  • Perform preventive maintenance by cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting systems to maximize their lifespan.
  • Adjust equipment settings and replace defective components when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the production team to quickly resolve technical issues and minimize unexpected downtime.
  • Follow and promote safety guidelines while identifying and reporting potential hazards.
  • Maintain the workplace and production equipment in a condition aligned with the plant's operational standards.
  • Perform any other related duties as required by the role.

Required qualification

  • Vocational diploma (DEP) in Industrial Mechanics, Electromechanics, or a college diploma (DEC) in Industrial Maintenance, or any other relevant training.
  • Relevant experience in an industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety (OHS) principles and techniques.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Leadership and team-oriented mindset.
  • Agile and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Skills in MIG/MAG welding, arc welding, and TIG welding will be considered assets.
