Water Treatment Technician

Our client, a rapidly growing company specializing in the design, manufacturing, and installation of wastewater, drinking water, and industrial water treatment systems, is currently seeking a Water Treatment Technician.

Nature of position

Reporting to the Vice President of Projects, you will play a key role in managing and executing projects related to water treatment and sanitation. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate and enhance sanitation systems. Your expertise will be essential for conducting water analyses, supervising on-site work, and proposing innovative technical solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Commission complete treatment systems (throughout Quebec and Canada).
  • Provide technical assistance to clients.
  • Conduct necessary analyses to monitor a system.
  • Handle various chemicals and systems in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Respond to emergency calls from clients.
  • Perform analyses, instrumentation calibrations, and "jar tests."
  • Accurately diagnose issues during troubleshooting interventions.
  • Conduct various operational and maintenance tasks (operation contracts, monitoring) and after-sales service.
  • Prepare intervention reports (in both French and English).
  • Prepare commissioning tools (protocols & procedures).
  • Contribute to the development of operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Perform monitoring and preventive maintenance of equipment and installations.
  • Perform any other related duties in line with your responsibilities.

Required qualification

  • College diploma (DEC) in Water Technology, Water Management, Water Treatment, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a water treatment technician or other relevant experience.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a personal vehicle, with availability for frequent travel to job sites across the province.
  • Experience in commissioning water treatment plants.
  • Strong knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Word software.
  • Fluency in French and English (proficiency in English is preferred for this role to facilitate communication with clients and partners).
  • Knowledge of instrumentation is an asset.
