Our client, a rapidly growing company specializing in the design, manufacturing, and installation of wastewater, drinking water, and industrial water treatment systems, is currently seeking a Commissioning Engineer.
Nature of position
Reporting to the Vice President of Projects, your primary mandate will be to participate in and execute various phases of the commissioning process for water treatment equipment and projects. This will involve overseeing the process from initial evaluation through project execution, ensuring that commissioning activities are carried out efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with specifications, standards, and safety requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage and execute various phases of the commissioning process for water treatment and/or sanitation systems and facilities on-site.
- Participate in designing the treatment process in collaboration with different company stakeholders.
- Handle various chemicals and systems in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Perform analyses, instrumentation calibrations, and "jar tests."
- Operate and troubleshoot equipment such as air compressors, pumps, analytical instruments, various types of chemical dosing pumps, pneumatic systems, and flow control valves.
- Write standard operating procedures, manuals, and training documents, and be capable of training the client.
- Lead on-site kick-off meetings with clients and project managers.
- Perform any other related duties as required by your responsibilities.
Required qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least two (2) years of on-site or chemical process experience.
- Experience in process mechanics, water treatment, chemical processes, instrumentation and control, or a relevant field.
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or in the process of obtaining membership (CPI).
- Proficiency in Windows environment software.
- Fluency in French and English (proficiency in English is preferred for this role to facilitate communication with clients and partners).
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
- Willingness to travel frequently across Canada, primarily within Quebec.
