Project manager

Our client, a well-established company specializing in the manufacturing and marketing of laundry and household cleaning products, is currently looking for a project manager for its facilities in the Montreal region.

Nature of position

Under the supervision of the engineering director, your main mandate will be to manage various projects related to production lines and manufacturing processes in order to improve the efficiency of the different manufacturing sectors, the quality of operations, the safety of equipment and the improvement of the environmental aspect of the plant. As such you will see to:

  • Analyze and find solutions to recurring problems having an impact on the performance of production lines;
  • Design the parts linked to the solutions found;
  • Define, manage and lead improvement, maintenance and safety projects for all plant equipment;
  • Take charge of machine safety and padlocking projects; Manage the external manufacturing of parts in support of the warehouse worker;
  • Manage the external manufacturing of parts in support of the warehouse worker;
  • Develop the required modifications to the automation level;
  • Supervise, when necessary, the interventions of external suppliers;
  • Monitor to ensure that the implemented solutions bring the desired results;
  • Communicate and train operators and supervisors on the solutions implemented;
  • Document the GuideTI CMMS software;
  • Assist production with daily monitoring of technical and improvement problems in progress;
  • Perform any other tasks compatible with your duties.

Required qualification

  • Baccalaureate or DEC in mechanical engineering;
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;
  • Good command of spoken and written French ;
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Experience in a unionized environment (an asset);
  • Mastery of Solidworks software, Autocad 2D and the MS Office suite (Excel and Word);
  • Concept in manufacturing machined parts;
  • Knowledge of blowmolding / packaging (an asset);
  • Knowledge of CMMS software (GuideTI being an asset);
  • Knowledge of padlocking (Cadlock being an asset);
  • Autonomous and structured;
  • Communicator skills and strong ability to work in a team;
  • Have good planning and organizational skills;
